Students are provided opportunities for personal, social, and educational development from schools that are dedicated to providing a conducive academic environment, high quality instruction, and a low student to teacher ratio.
In the Talladega City Schools there are five elementary schools, one junior high school, and one comprehensive high school with an outstanding career technical education center. All Schools are accredited by the Alabama Department of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
The district's seven public schools are a source of community pride. The
community's support for its schools is strong and evident in the
support the district receives from
the Talladega City Schools Foundation.
The Talladega City Schools offers a variety of
specialized instructional programs that are designed to strengthen the curriculum. There is a strong emphasis placed on the core subjects of reading/ language arts, math, science, and social science. Students are provided instruction in the 3 C's: communication, collaboration, and creative problem solving.
There is a concreted effort by the district's office of technology initiatives to utilize a wide variety of hardware/software solutions that are deigned to provide the end users with cultural resources from around the world, distance learning activities, and access to new forms of primary data.
Students, teachers, and administrators are constantly being provided instructions in and access to the latest technologies to: manage school operations, enhance instruction, and conduct educational research. The Talladega City Schools has one of the most sophisticated wide area networks and electronic network infrastructures in the State. Consequently in the next three to five years our students will experience an increase in the use of technology for instructional purposes and will most likely encounter more useable information than their grandparents were ever exposed to in their lifetime.
In accordance with the district's strategic plan, all schools strive to transform the teaching and learning process into an interactive source of school wide reform. Staff members seek to cultivate and promote lifelong learners by integrating the use of technology into their implementation of student-learning goals across the curriculum.
In addition to the district's commitment to academic excellence the Talladega City Schools also offers a wide range of extracurricular programs that are inclusive of boys and girls sports.
