$120 Per Child for Summer Groceries—See If Your Family Qualifies! This summer, Alabama is offering SUN Bucks, a program that provides a one-time $120 grocery benefit per eligible child.
What is SUN Bucks?Eligible school-age children will receive $120 on a pre-loaded EBT card to help families buy groceries during the summer.
What can it be used for?Groceries like fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy, and other food items.
Who is eligible?• Your household already receives SNAP or TANF
OR
• Your child attends a school that offers breakfast/lunch and your household income qualifies for free or reduced-price school meals
You will automatically receive SUN Bucks if:• Your household receives SNAP or TANF
• Your child is directly certified through Medicaid (in some cases)
• Your child is identified by the school as foster care, experiencing homelessness, or part of a migrant program
If this applies to you, a card will be mailed to your home.
You need to apply if:• Your child meets the eligibility rules above
• BUT your household is not currently receiving SNAP, TANF, or the services listed
If approved, you will receive the $120 per child.
