Transportation Update

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you so much for your continued patience, support, and partnership as we navigate the start of another school year. Every day is not perfect, but it’s better than the day before!

To help us optimize our bus routes, ensure student safety, and make our transportation system as efficient as possible, please review the following critical guidelines and updates:

1. Mandatory Transportation Survey

A transportation survey went home today with every student who was present.

  • Action Required: Please complete this survey in full and send it back to school with your child on Monday.

  • Why it matters: During registration, many families selected transportation as a request but do not actively use it. Our initial routes were designed around those requests, which has resulted in drivers stopping at inactive or unused stops. Your survey responses will allow us to clean up routes and shorten travel times for everyone.

2. Adult Presence Required at Drop-Off

  • Action Required: Please ensure that a designated adult is at the bus stop or home to receive your child in the afternoon.

  • Why it matters: Drivers are currently having to make extra stops at the end of their routes to take children back to school or make secondary drop-off attempts because no one was available to receive them. This creates significant delays for other students and staff.

A Quick Reminder for Monday:

Please double-check your child's backpack over the weekend, complete the transportation survey, and send it back with them on Monday morning.

We truly appreciate your cooperation in keeping our students safe and our buses running smoothly. Thank you for being a vital part of the Talladega City Schools family!
